OUT NOW!!!!!
Resist and Triumph
As 2017 opened, the United States took several steps back in the progress toward equality. In response, a group of authors has stepped up to offer positive stories of hope and love. In an effort to help fight and support those groups who are facing even greater challenges, we wrote these stories to offer a small amount of aid.
Stories of hope, resistance, and ultimately triumph fill the pages of this anthology.
All proceeds from the anthology go to The Trevor Project and GLAAD to help fight the effects of the dark times we’re facing.

Fighting the Alpha, the Omega Way by Carol Pedroso

Alpha Enforcer Gerard Gilbertson is sent in to investigate Alpha Kief Freaton and his pack. But, what he finds is both good and bad.

The good is he finds his mate, an omega named Strin.

The bad is his mate is being forced to use his omega powers to help the corrupt Alpha make money by conning people. Alpha Freaton is using a collar to control Strin, with the threat that the collar will kill the other omegas living in the pack and Strin if Strin doesn't follow orders.

With Gerard's help, Strin has to fight the Alpha for his right to freedom. And he has to do it the Omega way...

Carol’s reason for taking part in the anthology.

The subject of bullying is very close to my heart.

I was bullied all through my school years. I was called names, had stuff thrown on me, was hit a few times, was threatened with a knife once, and many other unpleasant memories.
It got so bad at one point that I found myself taking out my emotions on my best friend. She in no way deserved my anger and resentment. As soon as I realized what I was doing I gave myself a kick up the backside.

In my story Strin does what I wished I’d had the courage to do. I wish I had stood up and told the bullies what for. However, I have never been good with confrontations and so I decided to work behind the scenes as much as I could to fight the bullies. I became the person people came to if they needed someone to talk to. I helped out with groups and clubs that promoted working together. And since I started writing I make sure the bad guy/bullies always get beaten. I don’t allow any of my characters to turn a blind eye to anyone being mistreated, whatever the reason for that mistreatment is.

I hope in my own small way to make a difference to those suffering, and maybe give them the courage to seek help to stand up for who they are, and to be proud.
