Title: FAST CONNECTION
Series: Cyberlove, book 2
Authors: Megan Erickson, Santino Hassell
Release day: July 11, 2016

Blurb:

After a decade of serving in the Army, everyone still expects me to be Dominic 'Nicky' Costigan—the skirt-chasing player. They don't know I've been spending my days trying to figure out my post-military life. Including how to pick up guys.

When I meet Luke on a hookup app, he makes it clear it's for one-night only. That's fine with me, because I'm down to see what this silver fox can do. But after I arrive at his doorstep, it doesn't take long to realize we have serious chemistry, and we end up meeting again.

He's got more walls around his heart than a military base, but I think he's as addicted to me as I am to him. He can't resist me for long. I mean, who can? Except Luke's rules exist for a reason, and when I test his limits, things get complicated. Maybe too complicated.

4.5 out of 5 stars

Fast Connection is the second book in the Cyberlove series. This book can be read as a standalone but for a richer reading experience I highly recommend reading Strong Signal first. Strong Signal introduces Dominic Costigan as a secondary character.

Dominic is not the same person you'd met in Strong Signal. In that book you saw him from Garrett's perspective and he was cocky, and super sure of himself. Well this story shows you who Dominic really is through his own perception. Having left the military, he's moved back home with his parents and younger sister, Ariana. He feels lost, and not sure of who he is or what he wants to do with his life. He only knows he needs to get out of his parents house and stop working in his family's deli. On top of trying to figure out his future, he's wanting to explore the other side of his sexuality more. After having hooked up with Garrett when they were stationed together, he realized that he really liked being with a man. So he signs up for a hookup app and ends up meeting Luke.

Luke is looking for a hookup not a relationship so finding someone on a the hookup app is about all he needs or wants. After all he's got a whole life outside of those hookups that demands his complete attention and he has no desire to risk what his life is now. He's already had his life torn apart once by being careless and he doesn't want to do that again. Then he meets Dominic, who ends up becoming more than just a hookup and eventually someone that Luke can't live without in his life.

There is a lot of things between Dominic and Luke both trying to keep them apart and to draw them together. Honestly they are both their own worst enemy in some cases because Luke refuses to see he can have both a relationship and his family and career, and Dominic seems afraid to go after what he wants to be happy mostly with his job and family. Dominic is definitely not shy with Luke and what he'd like to have with him but again they don't communicate what they want to each other very well.

Fast Connection is angsty, and angry, and all about two men who are both kind of lost and need the other person to make them whole. When they finally get it right, you can just feel the click as it all settles into place. I'll be honest that I loved the messy parts of this story, along with all the sexy, growly, and even funny moments between Luke and Dominic. Even though it takes a bit to warm up to Luke it's so completely worth his grumpy asshole-ishness. He and Dominic really just work perfectly together.

What can I say these two authors together, and separately, make pretty damn awesome books. The Cyberlove series though is spot on perfect for me. I fell head over heels for Garrett and Kai, and Dominic and Luke were the literal icing on the cake of that fall. There is no reason you shouldn't pick up this series today and not read it because it's just that attention grabbing and that entertaining. So run out and if you haven't read Strong Signal, grab it..and make sure to pick up Fast Connection at the same time!

Megan Erickson

Megan Erickson is a USA Today bestselling author of romance that sizzles. Her books have a touch of nerd, a dash of humor, and always have a happily ever after. A former journalist, she switched to fiction when she decided she likes writing her own endings better.
She lives in Pennsylvania with her very own nerdy husband and two kids. Although rather fun-sized, she’s been told she has a full-sized personality. When Megan isn’t writing, she’s either lounging with her two cats named after John Hughes characters or… thinking about writing.

Santino Hassell

Santino Hassell was raised by a conservative family, but he was anything but traditional. He grew up to be a smart-mouthed, school cutting grunge kid, then a transient twenty-something, and eventually transformed into an unlikely romance author.

Santino writes queer romance that is heavily influenced by the gritty, urban landscape of New York City, his belief that human relationships are complex and flawed, and his own life experiences.
