Stop right there.. with whatever thoughts you might have about the storyline to Secret. Now...open your mind and dive into one hell of a story that'll make you laugh, cry, smile, and cheer the main characters on to their happy ending.

Like the blurb states Dylan is a devoted family man but he's also gay. He's chosen to stay 'in the closet' while his children are growing up so they have, what he believes to be a stable, loving home. Realizing his three children will all soon be out of the nest and off to college, leaves him a little lost because he'd set that as a 'deadline' of sorts for him being able to come out or at least be who he really is. Now before you start talking about cheating, etc.

This isn't really a spoiler as you actually find out in the first few chapters that his wife, who is also his best friend, KNOWS that he is gay and worked with him to create a marriage that worked for both of them while their children are young. SHE encourages him to be who he is on multiple occasions but Dylan had chosen to stay true to his plan until their youngest goes off to college.

The first time Dylan meets Tristan though, his plans become harder and harder to stick to because Tristan makes him want things just for himself for the first time in almost 20 years. Of course Dylan being Dylan he isn't sure that he should give into his desires because of his family and also because Tristan is buying his company. There is serious heat between these two even when they're just talking with each other and eventually Dylan allows himself to let go. The relationship that develops between Tristan and Dylan is by turns heart melting and heart breaking.

I really wasn't sure what to expect going into Secret but I can say I thoroughly enjoyed this book from start to finish. Secret is at heart a coming out romance, but with Dylan's strong convictions and desire to put his kids first it's way more than that. It's about being true to who you are and allowing yourself to live a full life and love who you love. I would love to see more of Tristan and Dylan say a few years further into their relationship, just to glimpse more of their future. This is one of those books you could easily re-read again and again. There was only one little tiny issue for me and that was I would have liked to see more of the family interact with Tristan and Mark.

Kindle Alexander definitely has another fantastic book with Secret. I highly recommend this one!

MeetTheAuthor
Best Selling Author Kindle Alexander is an innovative writer, and a genre-crosser who writes classic fantasy, romance, suspense, and erotica in both the male/male and male/female genres. It's always a surprise to see what's coming next!

I live in the suburbs of Dallas where it's true, the only thing bigger than an over active imagination, may be women's hair!

Usually, I try for funny. Humor is a major part of my life - I love to laugh, and it seems to be the thing I do in most situations - regardless of the situation, but jokes are a tricky deal... I don't want to offend anyone and jokes tend to offend. So instead I'm going to tell you about Kindle.

I tragically lost my sixteen year old daughter to a drunk driver. She had just been at home, it was early in the night and I heard the accident happen. I'll never forget that moment. The sirens were immediate and something inside me just knew. I left my house, drove straight to the accident on nothing more than instinct. I got to be there when my little girl died - weirdly, I consider that a true gift from above. She didn't have to be alone.

That time in my life was terrible. It's everything you think it would be times about a billion. I love that kid. I loved being her mother and I loved watching her grow into this incredibly beautiful person, both inside and out. She was such a gift to me. To have it all ripped away so suddenly broke me.

Her name was Kindle. Honest to goodness - it was her name and she died a few weeks before Amazon released their brand new Kindle ereader. She had no idea it was coming out and she would have finally gotten her name on something! Try finding a ruler with the name Kindle on it.. It never happened.

Through the course of that crippling event I was lucky enough to begin to write with a dear friend in the fan fiction world of Facebook. She got me through those dark days with her unwavering support and friendship. There wasn't a time she wasn't there for me. Sometimes together and sometimes by myself, we built a world where Kindle lives and stands for peace, love and harmony. It's its own kind of support group. I know without question I wouldn't be here today without her.
