Excerpt:

“It’s not exactly the penthouse, but it’s home.” I reach back for Chance’s wrist and tug him in behind me.
“I didn’t come here for the amenities,” he says, resting his hand on my hip and squeezing.
“No?” I turn so his arm is wrapped around my waist. “What did you come for?”
My face is inches from his. His warm breath washes over me as I stare into those desperate eyes.
“This.” Chance’s eyes drop to my mouth as his head tilts and he leans into me. As soon as his full lips close over mine, I want to sing. I instinctively open my mouth to accept his tongue as it lightly brushes over mine. We aren’t tentative kids anymore. We’ve both had time to perfect our techniques over the years so by the time I drag Chance into my room, I’ve touched every space in his mouth that I can reach.
Our hands aren’t left idle as we tug on clothes and pull down zippers until we’re both naked and panting on my bed.
“God, I’ve missed you, Vin,” Chance says against my chest as he drops kisses on my skin.

Their first night together is a scorcher, and, more than that, it feels right, to all of them. Excerpt:
“They’re watching you again,” Mason spoke in a low voice as he whizzed past Bryce, carrying drinks to the opposite end of the bar.

“You’re imagining things again.” Ever since Mason swore that Toby and Matt, who’d become regulars at the bar after Bryce started working there, were gay and interested in Bryce, he’d been teasing Bryce about their interest.

Bryce told himself not to look, but he couldn’t help glancing toward the corner booth where they always preferred to sit before going back to wiping down the bar. Did they sit there because it gave them a good view of the bar? Bryce scowled. No way in hell were his hands shaking. No way in hell was he letting himself get his hopes up. Even if they were gay, even if they were interested in him, starting something with two guys from work would be the pinnacle of idiocy. Hell, getting involved with more than one guy was insane from the start. Just because Mason and his boyfriends had made a threesome work didn’t make it realistic for Bryce. There was an exception to every rule.

“You’re wrong,” Bryce said as he passed Mason on his way to take a customer’s order.
Mason snorted in reply.

Bryce was glad to see the bar was filling up. He did not need to spend the next hour telling himself not to look at Toby and Matt. He did plenty of that at the firehouse. Toby’s smile could heat up and entire room and Bryce never wanted to look away from it, unless it was to contemplate running his hands through Matt’s wavy brown hair while staring into his dark eyes.

But if Mason was right and they were gay, maybe they really were lovers. If so, he had no business approaching them, whether they were watching him or not. Just because they liked to look didn’t mean they wanted to play. They didn’t need him fucking up whatever they had going.

Plus, they worked together. They were a team, with people's lives on the line.

The line at the bar grew long, and Bryce got busy taking orders, making drinks, and ringing people up at the register. When things finally slowed down, he needed a bathroom break. As he headed to the back, he noticed Matt and Toby playing pool with a couple of guys he recognized as regulars. Toby waved and he waved back, hating the way his pulse accelerated. What the hell was wrong with him?

He pushed open the door of the restroom but failed to check his instinct to glance back over his shoulder. Toby’s eyes were glued to his ass. There was no doubt about it this time. He whirled back around before their gazes had a chance to meet.

So Toby wasn’t straight. Bryce had to admit that now. He was gay or at least bi, but he was just appreciating the scenery. That didn’t mean anything. Bryce appreciated guys’ asses all the time.
When Bryce left the bathroom, Toby and Matt were leaning in close, talking, arguing actually based on the angry expressions on their faces. Bryce hurried back to work, glad he didn’t have to decide whether to speak to them or not. Several minutes later, Toby appeared at the bar. Mason, the little bastard, wasn’t busy, but he made no move to take Toby’s order.

“What can I get you?” Bryce asked.

“Just cashing out our tab.” Our? Maybe Toby was just buying that night.

“Sure.” Bryce looked Toby’s name up in the register, ran his card, and handed him the receipt to sign.

“Thanks,” Toby said, flashing a smile that made his eyes twinkle. How was it that he made that single word sound flirtatious? Bryce was supposed to be the one who flirted, the one in control of a situation, but despite Toby being so much younger, Bryce ended up flustered every time they spoke.

Please share how you start researching and writing a new book. Do you have any must haves when you write? (i.e. certain type of pen, drink/snack, quiet or music, etc) Do you set goals for word count or page count, etc.

I always start with my characters. Once I have the two (or three in the case of the Fitting In series) main characters formed my mind, I write a scene or two to get into their voices, not necessarily the first scene or anything consecutive. Sometimes I do a bit of research on their professions or the location or something else I know I’ll need first. But often I start writing and just leave notes in the manuscript for topics I need to research, sometimes a small line, sometimes as in the case of the firefighting scenes in Burning Up, a whole scene.

I don’t have any absolutes that are always with me when I write, in part because I write wherever and whenever I get the chance, but most of the time I have coffee and I love writing amidst the buzz of conversation at a coffee shop.

I always set word count goals when I’m doing first draft. I guess how long the book will be, think about how long I have to finish it, and set weekly goals, typically 10-15k. I also break those down into daily word count goals, which vary depending on my other responsibilities.

From Charing Cross to Waterloo, there’s no escaping love.

SEEING THROUGH…

28-year-old Draven Samuels has a tragic past, but as an investigator with a high-profile London company he now gets what he wants. Tough, sarcastic, and sceptical, he has no patience for lies and even less for people who waste his time. Even if they’re as beautiful as the wild and dark-haired Taylor Abelard. Especially when they’re talking over the body of a murder victim.

THE DARKNESS

Psychic Taylor Abelard is used to people calling him a freak. He can see past events and feel the ghostly vibrations of people close to him who've passed on. It’s why he doesn't get too close to the living. But this time, against his better judgment, despite Draven’s mocking rejoinders, Taylor will get closer than ever before. The mystery surrounding a dead friend will lead the two men down a dark and seedy trail of blackmail and lies. EXCERPT – SIGHT AND SINNERS

The man Taylor was blowing definitely didn’t know how the hell to keep quiet. Taylor’s lips were wrapped around his dick, while above him a man stood, panting and moaning, turning the air blue with his curses. Taylor stopped what he was doing, causing the blowjob recipient to groan in dismay, and glared at the sweaty face above him.
“For Christ’s sake, Georgie, can you stop it with the fucking porn noises?” He glanced around him nervously. “This is where I work, damn it, and if anyone hears you they’ll come outside to see what all the fuss is about.”
Georgie’s wide eyes cast a quick glance around the deserted alleyway behind ‘Music Mayhem’ where Taylor was employed, then looked down at Taylor kneeling between his legs.
“Sorry, mate, it’s just that you’re so damn good at this and it’s been a while.”

Susan Mac Nicol is a self confessed bookaholic, an avid watcher of videos of sexy pole dancing men, self confessed geek and nerd and in love with her Smartphone. This little treasure is called ‘the boyfriend’ by her long suffering husband, who says if it vibrated, there’d be no need for him. Susan hasn’t had the heart to tell him there’s an app for that…

She is never happier than when sitting in the confines of her living room/study/on a cold station platform scribbling down words and making two men fall in love. She is a romantic at heart and believes that everything happens (for the most part) for a reason.  She likes to think of herself as a ‘half full’ kinda gal, although sometimes that philosophy is sorely tested.

Lover of walks in the forest, theatre productions, dabbling her toes in the cold North Sea and the vibrant city of London where you can experience all four seasons in a day , she is a hater of pantomime (so please don’t tar and feather her), duplicitous people, bigotry and self righteous idiots.

In an ideal world, Susan Mac Nicol would be Queen of England and banish all the bad people to the Never Never Lands of Wherever -Who Cares. As that’s never going to happen, she contents herself with writing her HEA stories and pretending, that just for a little while, good things happen to good people.

What are your top 5 favorite books and why?

I was asked to write about my top five books and why I can’t live without them. If you’re expecting anything deep and profound in this blog post, I’m sorry to have to disappoint you. I’m not going to say ‘The Bible’, Tolstoy’s ‘War and Peace’, Margaret Mitchell’s ‘Gone with the Wind’ or Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s ‘Crime and Punishment.” I’m just not that literary…

Sigh. Here goes. I don’t have actually any books I can’t live without is my honest answer. I’m such an eclectic reader,  someone who lives for the moment and loves the book she’s with. Then I tend to go off in that fickle way I have and find another to love….it really depends on my mood. I’m a real book slut. A book tart if you will….

I might fancy a light hearted story about a jock and a twink. Then I might decide I’m in the mood to cry and read something full of emotion and angst that leaves me shivering in my timbers. Then, on the other hand, I might want something that is so raunchy and dirty and leaves me wanting to rip the clothes off the next man I see,  and that’s me, done. Well, not literally done, you understand as I am married, but you get the drift.

I do have my favourite books, ones I read over and again, like Cody Kennedy’s ‘Omorphi’, Josh Lanyon’s anything (and no, that’s not a book title, it just means anything by Josh is a favourite) or Scott Sherman’s Kevin Connors series. I could however, live without them, especially if a glossy, sexy, feel good, man romp came along shaking its bootilicious ass at me, saying ‘Read Me, Read Me!’ Then I’m toast. I get one whiff of those pages and I’m hooked. And off I go with another tease, a book that tickles my fancy.

Like I said -I’m a book slut. And I make no apologies for that J

She makes the most of her single lifestyle and happy-go-lucky attitude. But she’s also a hard-nosed business woman who knows what she wants and goes out and gets it. She lives her life by the motto ‘Work hard. Play hard’. Neither of them ‘do relationships’. But when their frequent hook-ups start to develop into something more they realize that the connection and pull between themis undeniable. The prospect of wanting more than just mind-blowing sex from each other is a total shock to both of them and it hits them like a bolt from the blue. Can they change their partying ways and give in to the irresistible chemistry that sizzles between them? Do they even want to? And will their past catch up with them to prevent them from giving the whole relationship thing a proper try?

Warning: This story is a rock star erotic romance. It contains hot rock stars, sizzling sexual encounters and language that you would expect from heavy rock musicians used to a life of sex, booze and rock and roll. Bolt From The Blue contains graphic sex scenes and is strictly 18+ only. This novel is Book 2 in the 'Oblivion On Tour' series. Each book in the series follows a different band member and their quests for love. Bolt From The Blue can be read as a stand-alone, but if you plan on reading the entire series, it would be best to read Heaven Sent (Book 1) first.

excerpt

After about half an hour the excitement has started to quieten down and it’s just a noisy party atmosphere. Eve has deserted me and now has Ash wrapped around her. I notice that Ash is pretty adept at shaking off the attention from flirty groupies. His attention is solely on Eve, it’s quite sweet actually. Nikki on the other hand is thriving on all the attention. Admittedly he’s not partaking in anything intimate, but he’s definitely flirting and enjoying the interest he’s getting from numerous scantily clad girls.

I’m not jealous, I’m not jealous, I’m not jealous. I chant that mantra numerous times in my head, but I’m not doing a very good job of convincing myself. I feel a knot in my stomach and I really could do with another drink to calm my frayed nerves. I try to look anywhere but at Nikki, but I just can’t help myself, I’m driving myself crazy watching him flirt and cavort!

Fuck this, I need a distraction. I glance around the room and my eyes meet with a sexy looking rocker that I don’t recognize. He raises his eyebrows at me and nods his head indicating for me to go over to him. I put on my sexy smile and saunter over. If Nikki’s allowed to flirt, then I am too! As I get closer to him he takes a few steps towards me and quickly secures his hands around my waist as he rumbles, “Well hello there beautiful, my name’s Matt, what’s yours?”

“My name’s Trixie.” I purr coyly.

“Mmmm” he hums. His eyes slowly rake over me suggestively. This guy’s a bit full on, but at least it’s distracting me from whatever it is that Nikki’s doing. We flirt playfully for a couple of minutes until I suddenly feel strong hands secure around my waist from behind and I get spun around to face a very ticked off looking Nikki. “This one’s mine!” he growls angrily.

Nikki snarls at poor Matt who’s looking slightly panicked as he pleads, “Shit sorry Nikki, I didn’t know she was with you.” Nikki suddenly picks me up and throws me over his shoulder as he barks, “Well she is, so stay the fuck away from her Matt.”

Nikki stomps across the room with me slung over his shoulder while I giggle profusely. He opens a side door, steps inside and slams it shut behind us, locking it securely. We’re in a small bathroom. He lowers me down to the ground, his eyes burn into mine. I’m laughing so much at his ridiculous caveman routine that I can barely remain standing. It’s only after a little while that I realize he’s completely serious as he snarls, “What the fuck were you doing Trixie?”

“What do you mean, what was I doing?” I chuckle playfully.

“Why the hell were you all over Matt?”

He must be kidding. What a hypocrite! “We were just talking! Besides I wasn’t doing anything you weren’t doing!”

“What the hell. It’s my job.”

“Bullshit. It’s not your job. Ash manages to cope without cavorting with every groupie that throws themselves at him.”

“Ash’s god-damned pussy whipped!” he exclaims as if that’s a genuinely logical answer. “Besides, I don’t see Eve falling all over guys from other bands.”

I put my hands on my hips and poke out my tongue. I stomp my foot insolently.“If you can, I can!” I shriek childishly.

Nikki starts to chuckle which quickly turns into a rolling laugh.

It’s now him that’s laughing, and me being serious. I get the distinct feeling that he’s laughing at me not with me. I straighten my face, “What’s so fucking funny?”

He has a massive smug grin on his face. “You get jealous as shit don’t you Trix?”

I sulk and pout my lips. I don’t want to be ‘that girl’. I don’t want to be the girl that gets jealous when her man even talks to other girls. Jesus, he’s not even ‘my man’. I try to explain myself, “Yeah, no, well…”

Nikki starts laughing again.

“Shut up!” I huff.

After a few more smug chuckles Nikki grabs me around the waist. “You know, when I saw you flirting with Matt, I felt so fucking angry. I was so jealous I thought I’d turn green. I had to try really hard to control myself. I almost went over there and smashed the shit out of him for even looking at you. Then when I saw his hands on your sexy body and you giggling and flirting with him, shit Trix…I swear, I almost lost it.”

I look at him seriously as I simply state, “I didn’t think it would bother you if I flirted, you seemed rather preoccupied.”

“God, how can it not bother me? You’re the hottest girl here and I’m not the only one that can’t take my eyes off you.” His body crushes into mine as he pushes me up against the door. He stares forcefully into my eyes, “We had a deal Trix, when we’re in the same town, there’s no fucking around. Look, I know I probably shouldn’t have let those groupies touch and flirt with me. But in my defense, it’s like breakin’ a fucking lifetime habit. I didn’t even think. I promise I wasn’t going to do any more than talk to them. I’ll do my best from now on. When you’re around, you’re the only girl I want touchin’ me and telling me about all the dirty things you plan to do to me.”

“Holy crap Nikki, do they really tell you all the dirty things they want to do to you?” Nikki just shrugs his shoulders with a big grin on his face as if it’s the most ordinary thing in the world. “Anyway, you’re the only one I want to do dirty things to me. So hows about it?”

I raise my eyebrows, “Hows about what?” I repeat, batting my eyelids at him.

“Hows about we get dirty…here in this bathroom.”

Before I get a chance to answer, his mouth crashes into mine and his hands grasp my ass as he pushes me harder against the locked door. He picks me up and we spin around as he positions me on top of the vanity. His hands are everywhere and they move so quickly my top and bra are removed and discarded in less than a few seconds. His fingers are deftly unzipping my jeans and they’re being tugged down my legs along with my panties as he groans, “There that’s better, I like you naked.”

Meet the Author

Tania Sparks Author Photo

The first thing you need to know about me is that I genuinely believe in true love and soul mates. I met my wonderful husband when we were still at school. I was sixteen, he was seventeen, we are high school sweethearts. Now more than twenty five years later, we are still very much in love and are happily married with two beautiful children. We live in picturesque New Zealand and I consider ourselves lucky to live in this magnificent part of the world.

I do have a full time job, but in my spare minutes I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking and reading. I’m an avid reader and tend to chomp through a large volume of books, mainly in the romance genre. And of course my other major ‘hobby’ is writing steamy rock star erotic romances!

I started writing in early 2014. After spending many years writing business documentation, and constantly being inspired by numerous romance novels, I decided to try my hand at fictional writing. After penning my first scene I discovered that I enjoyed it immensely and so resolved to continue with the rest of the story that was swirling in my imagination. That story resulted in my first novel, Heaven Sent.

My Oblivion on Tour Series follows the five band members of the hard rock group Oblivion. Each book in the series follows a different band member and their quest for love. Book 1 - Heaven Sent - Ash and Eve’s story Book 2 - Bolt From The Blue - Nikki and Trixie’s story Books 3, 4 & 5 will each tell Cody, Scott and Hansen’s stories.
